Ringwood Professional Athletic Club (Inc)

ringwood-athletic-logoThe Ringwood Professional Athletic Club was formed in 1967 by an enthusiastic group of athletes who wanted to be part of the Victorian Athletic League. The Club’s first president and coach was Brian Morgan, who continues to perform these roles today. The Club has its headquarters at Proclamation Park, Ringwood.

The Club welcomes new members! Our aim is to attract both females and males to the fantastic sport of athletics. Most of our profits go back into the sport, we train four nights a week and in the summer season we compete at venues around Victoria most weekends. Athletics is a great way to keep fit and enjoy a healthy lifestyle.

Since its inception, the Ringwood Professional Athletic Club has won the Victorian Runners and Trainers Association ‘Club of the Year’ award on three occasions, as well as being nominated several times. Its annual ‘Maroondah Gift’ is a popular and hotly contested carnival that has been running successfully for more than three decades. Most of the Club’s carnivals have been at Jubilee Park, Ringwood, because many athletes prefer to run on grass.

The Club was very successful in having the Stawell Gift winner trained at the Club in 1994. Over the years, the Club has also produced many winners at other carnivals throughout Victoria. Coach, Brian, has successfully trained winners at every major athletic carnival in the state.

Some years ago, the Club established its association with the Maroondah Sports Club, who we gratefully recognise as our major sponsor.
