Maroondah Sports Club Wins Major Award
The “Best Family Club” award was presented to the Maroondah Sports Club at The Community Clubs Association (CCAV) of Victoria Awards Night.
At the gala event on 18 October at the RACV City Club, CCAV presented their 2011 Annual Awards to clubs, in recognition of the contributions to their members and local communities.In presenting the awards, CCAV’s President Mr Leon Wiegard, OAM, said “Victorian clubs perform a valuable and unique role in sustaining healthy communities. They keep people active and engaged as well as providing a broad range of facilities and resources”.
A highlight of the awards was the presentation of The Best Family Club Award to Maroondah Sports Club

CCAV is a peak body representing the interests of these community clubs from small volunteer-based sporting clubs through to very large clubs with multi-million dollar turnovers.
CCAV members have one overriding thing in common; they are not-for-profit entities that provide facilities, support and entertainment for their members and broader communities.
